The Starting Hourly Rate is $17.25 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $17.25 USD - $25.90 USD per hour.

The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store.

As a General Merchandise Expert, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
• Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

A typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures, if certified.
• Execute processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties.

We expect our team members to:

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb up and down ladders
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.

• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
