SUMMARY STATEMENTAgSource is seeking a Territory Sales and GPS Representative to professionally represent the organization while developing and executing sales strategies within an assigned territory in Central Iowa. This role is responsible for prospecting new business, maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and industry partners, and achieving defined sales goals.
The Territory Sales and GPS Representative also coordinates and oversees field sample collection services, ensuring timely, accurate completion of contracted acres, and provides guidance, training, and support to field sampling technicians. The position requires dependable attendance and adherence to all AgSource policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide effective and positive communication to existing clients, prospective clients and key stakeholders.
- Be proactive in keeping clients informed and providing timely resolution to client requests.
- Conduct regular sales calls to current and prospective clients, staying aligned with market trends and client/industry changes.
- Communicate relevant information to client services staff, management and key stakeholders.
- Record client and prospect contacts and follow-up activities utilizing CRM.
- Conduct effective territory research to develop and maintain an active list of potential clients.
- Maintain an effective industry networking process to be aware of sales opportunities and monitor industry trends.
- Implement a sales strategy specific to each prospect to convert into a value‑added client.
- Cooperate with the marketing department to develop laboratory marketing programs, such as industry trade shows, direct mail marketing, E‑Marketing, and client surveys. Effectively support programs to provide valued client support tools.
- Assist with management of Field Sampling Technicians as needed, to ensure sample collection services are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide opportunities for employee development training.
- Implement procedures to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
- Support sample collection services.
- Accurately perform sample collection activities according to approved standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality control guidelines.
- Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance of sample collection equipment.
- Assure timely and accurate billing of services.
- Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Follow safe work procedures and report unsafe conditions and injuries immediately.
- High School diploma. Associates or higher preferred.
- 2 to 4+ years sales and/or marketing experience.
- 0 to 2+ years GPS Soil Sampling experience.
- Ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a sales environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Detail orientated nature with strong customer service focus.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime as needed based on workflow, deadlines and/or special projects.
