The Hinckley Company, known for building and servicing strong, seaworthy, and beautiful yachts, is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Installer for our production facility in Trenton, Maine. The role involves performing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tasks for boat fabrication, utilizing various power and hand tools. The installer may work on parts of or entire systems within a specialty discipline.
Essential Duties- Performs installation of wiring, fixtures, and equipment for electrical service, plumbing, and engines.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Measures and cuts wire, strips insulation, and connects to terminals.
- Secures rackets, pulls wires through connection boxes and switch panels.
- Connects power supply circuits to electronic equipment.
- Tests electrical characteristics using appropriate testing equipment.
- Installs intake and discharge fittings for water and engine cooling, and secures plumbing fixtures.
- Cuts holes for valves and outlets, ensuring watertight fittings.
- Assists in engine installation and placement.
- Installs machinery such as motors, pumps, and ventilating systems.
- Follows instructions, safety rules, and maintains quality standards.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.

Requirements- Vocational technical school certification or High School Diploma/GED plus one year of experience.
- Knowledge of hand tools such as sockets and wrenches.
- Two years of experience preferred.
- Lift and carry over 25 lbs., up to 60 lbs. frequently.
- Maintain continuous mental and visual attention.
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push, and pull.
- Work under conditions with dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, vibration, noise, water, or chemicals.
