As our Business Development Manager you will contribute to our success by developing business opportunities and maximising business profitability. You will deal mainly with new clients to expand our portfolio and increase revenue for Elmhurst, acting as a business advocate and promoting the Elmhurst brand to achieve our vision of being the leading independent provider of building energy rating expertise.

In this role you will help shape and implement a commercial strategy to drive growth by expanding the customer base and creating a prioritised pipeline of new opportunities. You will collaborate with the Commercial Director to identify key decision-makers, develop compelling business cases, and promote Elmhurst in the market. Your responsibilities include negotiating and closing agreements, monitoring market trends, providing insights for new products or services, staying informed on industry developments, attending exhibitions, and supporting new business initiatives.

• Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy, with a proven track record of increasing revenue through lead generation.
• The ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in developing and maintaining relationships to create new business opportunities.
• A technical understanding of the built environment, construction industry, and/or energy efficiency and environmental issues.
• Self‑motivation to work towards and deliver on targets and KPIs.
• The confidence to engage with potential new clients and existing stakeholders at all levels, inspiring them to see how Elmhurst products and services meet their needs.
• The ability to identify key stakeholders and decision‑makers within potential client businesses.
• Confidence and capability to act as an ambassador for Elmhurst.
• The ability to champion the Elmhurst business and brand in the external marketplace.
• Comfort and confidence in delivering presentations.
• A strong aptitude for working in an environment where IT is a crucial tool for business operations.
