Summer School Director - Middle and High School
Title: Summer School Director (2 positions available)
Location: Elmhurst District 205 Public Schools, Chicago, IL
Description: Provide leadership for all aspects of academic summer school programs at Elmhurst District 205 Public Schools, including, at minimum, York Academic Summer School, 5th-7th Grade Acceleration, Freshmen and/or EL Academies, and Credit Recovery.
Stipend: $9,548.10 per position, inclusive of time spent during the summer and during the school year in preparation.
Qualifications: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) registered in DuPage County. Holds a valid Type #75 certificate to direct now in full force and effect, or will procure such certificate before the date the supervisor shall begin supervising.
Dates in session: June 1 through July 10, 2026 (Monday through Thursday)
Orientation/Prep Days: Select days/times between May 27-29, 2026
Prior to Summer School- Coordination with other school administrators, district and school staff, and directors to develop class rosters and student assignments.
- Collaboration with other school administrators, district and school staff, and directors on staffing and hiring.
- Coordination of any required student transportation.
- Communication to families regarding program information.
- Communication with district staff regarding program updates, needs, etc.
- Provide comprehensive on-site supervision and program administration.
- All required parent communication.
