Electrical Engineer – Solid Works Electrical Design

Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000 per year
Bonus/Variable Compensation: Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus of approximately 10% of base salary

A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Solid Works Electrical Design to join their team. This individual will design, model, and optimize electrical box assemblies while collaborating with production, purchasing, and suppliers to ensure manufacturable, high‑quality electrical solutions.
This position offers exposure to the full design‑to‑supplier process, opportunities for hands‑on problem solving, and the potential to advance within the engineering and manufacturing organization.
About the RoleThe Electrical Engineer will focus on designing electrical box assemblies using Solid Works Electrical
, developing wiring diagrams, schematics, and BOMs, and supporting supplier communication and manufacturing readiness. This role bridges engineering, production, and supplier collaboration to deliver reliable, precise electrical solutions.
- Design and model electrical box assemblies in Solid Works Electrical based on production concepts
- Develop wiring diagrams, schematics, layouts, and complete Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and serviceability
- Work with production teams to refine first article electrical box layouts
- Incorporate feedback from technicians and engineers into final designs
- Partner with purchasing to identify and qualify suppliers for electrical assembly production
- Provide technical documentation and support during quoting and build stages
- Review supplier questions, clarifications, and deviations
- Inspect and evaluate electrical assemblies received from suppliers
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for electrical assemblies
- Implement design updates or corrective actions based on production and field feedback
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field (required)
- Proficiency in Solid Works Electrical (required)
- 3+ years of experience in electrical box design, wiring harnesses, or panel layouts
- Understanding of electrical manufacturing processes, component selection, and BOM management
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with production, suppliers, and purchasing
- Hands‑on, practical approach with focus on manufacturable solutions
- Experience with outsourced electrical assembly production or supplier management
- Knowledge of industrial control panels or thermal management systems
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, or other relevant electrical standards
- Base salary range: $100,000 – $130,000 annually
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus (~10% of base), based on company and/or individual performance
- Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications
