Overview
Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. The company employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, paramedics, and nurses and operates a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed‑wing emergency medical transportation.
ResponsibilitiesThis is a waitlist for the Illinois EMT Classes. Upon successful completion of the pre‑screening process, you may have the opportunity to enroll in the EMT Class. The 18‑week EMT Certification Program (approximately 18 weeks, two weekdays per week, daytime classes) will educate and prepare you to successfully complete the National Registry Exam to become a licensed EMT. Direct employment is provided by Superior Ambulance after successful completion of the class and passing the national exam.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Able to safely operate a vehicle in various conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pass company Physical Assessment/Lift/Drug Screening. Must be able to lift 137.5 lbs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
- Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence.
- Other qualifications/certifications specific to the local operation and/or contract requirements.
- Past training in healthcare related fields, or military experience is welcomed but not necessary.
- Admission will be approved based on passing an entrance assessment.
USD $0.00 - USD $0.00 /Hr. Rates offered based on years of experience and full time scheduled templates. Additional earnings via bi‑weekly bonus up to $4.00 /HR.
