Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor all quality assurance standards. • Promote corporate brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcomed and appreciated by answering product questions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and provide recommendations.
• Assist with preparation of produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to ensure customers get what they need.
• Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise.
• Review and inspect products for quality, freshness, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report all safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, or older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Current food handlers permit (once employed).

• Comparable retail experience.
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
