Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time

We are hiring a Cashier Team Member (Front End Service) - Part Time at Whole Foods Market. The role includes assisting customers during the check‑out process, performing all cash register functions, bagging groceries, and working at the customer service desk. All Whole Foods Market retail jobs require maintaining a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and teammates.

$17.00/hr – $25.40/hr

• Check out customer groceries efficiently and accurately.
• Uphold government regulations concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation.
• Follow proper check, ATM, and credit procedures.
• Use proper tare procedures when ringing up scalable items.
• Clean and stock front‑end areas, including register – change tapes and ribbon as necessary.
• Follow all cash‑handling procedures, meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy.
• Assist in training new cashier and cashier assistant team members.
• Assist supervisor in controlling customer flow and backing up lines to reduce waiting time.
• Proactively participate in company programs as directed by leadership.
• Arrive at workstation on time, groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customers’ needs promptly and courteously, and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment per WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid‑shift, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store or company leadership.
• US only – For those hired November 2024 and beyond, cashiers will be assigned shopper training and may be assigned shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team.

• Patience in dealing with customers and teammates.
• Proficiency with the Cashier Code Book and PLUs.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information clearly to teammates, customers, and vendors.

• No prior retail experience required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk 6–8 hours during an 8‑hour work day.
• Hand use: single gripping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures: 90 °F.
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• May require use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $17.00–$25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience. New entry‑level team members who successfully complete their first 90 days and remain actively employed in an eligible role may be eligible for a base‑rate increase after their 90‑day anniversary.
