Overview
Field Service Technician at Instron – join our global team focused on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Location:
Greater Chicago, IL area with regional responsibility for customers located within Wisconsin and Illinois. Travel to customer sites to perform verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation on a wide range of Instron products. A company vehicle, tools/equipment, laptop, cell phone, and MI-FI device are provided. Some overnight travel may be required up to ~40%.
- Travel to customer sites to perform verification, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation on Instron products.
- Interface with customers to ensure high quality service and satisfaction.
- Utilize provided tools and equipment to diagnose and fix issues, and document service activities appropriately.
- Two- or four-year technical degree from an accredited university; knowledge of electro-mechanical systems. Equivalent military or trade school training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical information involving mechanics and electronics related to materials testing systems; ability to interpret blueprints and schematics; familiarity with PCs, operating systems, and Windows applications.
- High level of autonomy with strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision and manage regional travel.
- Prior field service experience.
- Automation systems experience.
- Experience with preventative or corrective maintenance on servo hydraulic systems.
- Experience delivering hands-on and classroom training on technically oriented topics.
This position has a starting salary range of $30.90 - $41.70 USD hourly. Pay is determined by factors including experience, skills, and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, life and LTD insurance, 401k with match, and a 100% tuition reimbursement program.
