You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand TM you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule.

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. You are expected to engage by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you are required to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts  you do not respond to our attempts at contact, your employment may be terminated.

Additionally, if you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment with Target may be administratively terminated.

Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it most are critical to your success in this role.

If offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime mobile scheduling app is where you can pick up the shifts you desire to work.

We enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor in our smallest format stores. This team is proficient in all areas of the store and completes duties such as cashiering, stocking, presentation and price accuracy. You’ll provide exceptional guest service, customizing each experience and anticipating guest needs.

As a Small Format Team Member You’ll gain the following skills:

• Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture across the store
• Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, pricing and promotion strategies, inventory management, and process improvement
• Supporting daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and achieve sales goals

• Create a welcoming experience while completing daily tasks and assisting guests
• Engage with guests to help solve their needs
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to resolve guest issues
• Help guests while completing workload with minimal disruption
• Work in all departments to keep the sales floor stocked and organized
• Assist with truck unload and stock replenishment
• Execute transitions, pricing, and signage as needed
• Perform inventory checks, scans, and audits for accuracy
• Support major store transitions and maintain brand standards
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety (restrooms, carts, spills, etc.)
• Operate backroom tasks and backstock management
• Follow processes with attention to detail and prioritize tasks
• Maintain ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup, and drive-up while complying with laws
• All other duties as needed
