A. Mola Public Library in Elmwood Park seeks an experienced and motivated professional to
reinvigorate and expand its Youth Services Department. The ideal candidate must be friendly and outgoing, well-organized, a multi-tasker, and have strong time-management skills.

• Development and maintenance of children’s materials.
• Plan, schedule, promote and implement a wide calendar of age-appropriate
  programs and events for various age groups, from infant through teen.
• Conduct story time, crafts, creative play and educational sessions.
• Expand creative learning experiences with speakers, authors, and outside
  performers
• Provide reference and reader’s advisory services for different ages and reading
  levels.
• Strengthen connections with local schools and provide class visits for schoolchildren.
• Contribute to the attractive appearance of the children’s room/area through
  appropriate displays.
• Prepare reading lists and relevant subject bibliographies for public distribution.
• Create and implement summer and other reading programs.
• Establish relationships with schools and implement cooperative efforts and class visits.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program.
• New Jersey Public Librarian’s Certificate, or the ability to obtain such.
• Consideration will be given to certified, experienced educators and MLS students with
  youth literacy experience in another setting
• Saturday rotation and some evening hours required.
