Summary: Jacksonville Children's Multispecialty Clinic / Atlantic Medical Management is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Alamance / Elon practice - Alamance Pediatrics & Family Medicine - JCMC. The CMA provides patient care under the supervision of a physician and assists in clinical and administrative tasks, including answering phones and scheduling appointments. Flexibility to work additional hours is essential.

Essential

Functions
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Answer telephones and greet patients professionally.
  • Update patient records accurately in Next Gen EHR system.
  • Assist with patient care from pre-visit to post-visit.
  • Prepare patients and assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Take medical histories and vital signs.
  • Explain treatment procedures clearly to patients.
  • Assist with laboratory specimen collection and perform on-site tests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and treatment rooms.
  • Educate patients and provide web-based resources.
  • Prepare and administer medications under physician guidance.
  • Document medical visits thoroughly in EHR and provide after-hours contact information.
  • Participate in workflow and quality improvement meetings.
  • Stay current on population health data and attend training sessions.
  • Handle telephone prescriptions and refills as directed.
  • Perform other delegated clinical tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited CMA program.
  • Pediatric MA experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
