Job Title: Locum Primary Care Physician
Overview:
Vie Med Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly qualified Locum Primary Care Physician to provide essential medical services in Eloy, Arizona.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to deliver comprehensive primary care to detainees in a detention facility, including adults and children, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes and clinical oversight. The position requires a dedicated professional capable of working independently within a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to facility performance and patient well-being. Required Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent.
- Valid, unrestricted medical license in Arizona.
- DEA license for prescribing controlled substances.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience in primary care, preferably within detention, correctional, or residential healthcare settings.
- Proficiency in physical assessments, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning for diverse patient populations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to utilize electronic health records efficiently.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Pediatrics.
- Experience providing care to both adult and pediatric populations, including women s health and chronic disease management.
- Knowledge of social determinants of health and cultural competence in patient care.
- Prior experience working in correctional or detention healthcare environments.
- Medical degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian program.
- At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience in primary care.
- Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty is advantageous.
- Willingness to respond to medical emergencies on-site and participate in rotational on-call duties.
- Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, with flexibility for emergency response.
- Successful completion of background checks and security clearances as required by DHS/ICE.
- Physical ability to perform emergency procedures, including CPR, and assist patients during evacuations.
- Must adhere to HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
