LPN/LVN Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse for a facility housing individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Nurses in this Health Services facility practice in a collaborative environment, providing ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary care.
Nurses are the largest group of healthcare providers within the facilities, providing care 24/7.
- Intake screening to identify conditions requiring referral or treatment
- Administering medications
- Supporting other providers in the clinic
- Providing treatments such as wound care, electrocardiograms, ear lavage, phlebotomy, nebulizer therapy, and tuberculosis skin tests
- Provide direct care to patients
- Administer medications via various routes including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and others as ordered
- Perform prescreening and intake screening of newly arrived patients using established tools, referring abnormal findings to appropriate providers
- Perform treatments like wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, as ordered
- Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing or prepare specimens for lab processing, taking appropriate actions on results
- Respond to medical emergencies, provide stabilization, and transfer patients as needed
- Assist other healthcare professionals with data gathering, care provision, patient education, etc.
- May participate in involuntary, court-ordered care if required
- Current, full, and unrestricted license as an LPN or LVN in Arizona or a compact state allowing practice in Arizona
- Minimum one year of experience in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting
- Experience in detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred
- Graduate from an approved Vocational/Practical Nurse program
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
