We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Berne & Elwood, IN. The Medical Assistant works closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience. This role balances front‑desk responsibilities with clinical duties, acting as both a Medical Receptionist and a Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities- Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are clean and stocked
- Review prior medical information and gather updated health information from patients
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures; coordinate with labs for additional tests
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by a Provider
- Partner with the care team to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps
- Perform front‑desk duties: scheduling, record requests, referrals, and other administrative tasks
- Accurately document data in the medical record according to guidelines
- Process test results and provide timely communication to patients
- Participate in outreach to engage eligible patient groups
- Maintain clinical supplies and equipment
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or equivalent
- National or state‑specific MA certification or registration (required where applicable)
- CPR/BLS certification required at start date
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
