We have an exciting new opportunity to join our fast‑paced Commercial department who are integral to our business in getting our produce onto the shelves as a Commercial Manager.
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Account Manager to join our thriving commercial teams based within the Barway, Ely site. This is an exciting opportunity to lead customer relationships, drive revenue growth, and shape the strategic direction of our business.
You will work closely with the Commercial Team to develop and execute plans that maximise value for both our customers and the business. If you are target‑driven, customer‑focused and have a strategic approach to customer development then this could be the opportunity for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Contribute to strategy development by customer and product, translating Commercial strategy into actionable short, medium, and long‑term plans.
- Bring new concepts, opportunities, and key decisions to the Commercial team for all accounts under your management.
- Drive revenue and profit growth through effective sales strategies, pricing, and relationship management.
- Build and maintain long‑term customer partnerships, ensuring satisfaction and sustainable business growth.
- Analyse market trends, negotiate contracts, and collaborate across departments to enhance market share and competitive positioning.
- Use planning tools to support supply chain management, budgeting, and crop programming.
- Set and monitor budgets and Grower targets, deploying strategies efficiently within your team.
- Manage costs, maximise ROI from promotions and marketing, and ensure teams are equipped with the tools they need.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing, and Development teams to monitor returns, crop availability, and support Grower investments.
- Promote G’s as the top supplier, aligning Grower and customer expectations while highlighting innovation, investment, and industry leadership.
- Develop and lead a high‑performing Sales Team, identifying training needs, encouraging career progression, and fostering talent.
- Lead Lean initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and minimise costs.
- Represent the business at Senior Management meetings, maintaining strong professional relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure accountability for achieving volume, value, profit, and return targets while maintaining confidentiality and sustainable business relationships.
- Previous Commercial or Account Manager experience working with retailers within an FMCG background.
- Food industry background is essential.
- Fresh produce experience would be beneficial.
- Proven ability to deliver within a commercial environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills both internal and external.
- Financially savvy, with the ability to interpret financial data including budgets and pricing.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, challenging and changing environment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong relationship‑building ability.
- Big‑picture thinker with leadership experience.
