Job Description & How to Apply Below
We've been one of UKs leading independent producers of remanufactured automotive products for more than 60 years, producing engines and cylinder heads, as well as gearboxes and turbos. Our mission is to produce products engineered to the highest standards, accompanied by exceptional service with a commitment to our customers and the environment. Varied and challenging vacancies have arisen within our expanding engine machining services workshop team for two positive and keen individuals with a passion for engines and the restoration of all engine components.
The machining services team work on a large variety of engine types from motorcycle engines; cars and commercial vehicles to large agricultural; river craft and also many forms of motor sports including V8s; professional; amateur; and classic racing series. Both positions involve a varied range of duties, some of which include: pressure testing of cylinder heads for cracks and porosity; full cylinder head re-working including disassembly and assembly;
cutting of valves and seats; skimming of critical faces; re-grinding and balancing of crankshafts; cylinder block re-boring and re-sleeving; resizing and bushing of connecting rods. Training will be provided, so whether you have machining experience or not - but you are interested and enthusiastic about being fully trained to machine and restore engine components to precision tolerances; or if you have had previous experience in any form of hands on mechanical or machining operations or amateur DIY mechanics;
or if you are a professional mechanic in the garage trade but thinking about a change in direction within the motor industry then come and join a team of positive and experienced staff who are waiting to train the right successful candidates. Working hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Friday (40 hour working week) with the opportunity once trained for non-compulsory overtime at competitive rates.
