Job Description

Lorain County Community College is seeking to fill an adjunct faculty position in insurance within the Engineering, Business, and Information Technologies Division (EBIT). This position will report to the Dean of EBIT. The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is student learning and success. Adjunct faculty will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and delivering the courses assigned, including the utilization of the Canvas course learning management system (LMS).

In cooperation with the Division Dean and faculty, candidates must be flexible in terms of course delivery options including on-campus and distance learning formats as well as scheduled class days including weekdays and weekends. Location may vary from the main campus and/or be delivered remotely. Candidates must be committed to the college mission and student success, participate in program and course assessment, and be a team-oriented individual.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications :

Successful candidates must have a master’s degree in a business area (MBA or similar), and an undergraduate degree in insurance or related field (earned degrees must be from an accredited college or university). Current and relevant work experience will also be considered. The candidate must be willing to teach insurance courses. Candidates must hold a current Ohio insurance license and be actively working in that capacity.

The candidate should have a detailed knowledge of insurance principles and regulations.

Candidates must have the ability to integrate the Canvas LMS into coursework and delivery using available technologies. Delivery methods may include various modalities including on-campus and/or online asynchronous and synchronous.



Preferred Qualifications

Prior college level teaching experience; relevant professional related business experience; and professional licensing.
