TheJob
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be part of our Elyria team, working on‑site to support the successful production of assigned product lines.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the entire manufacturing process/design of new parts and improve manufacturing of existing parts for key customers, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, contractual requirements, and internal initiatives.
- Conform to and/or comply with all EHS, Quality, Finance, Ethics, Governance, and regulatory laws.
- Review customer drawings and inquiries, provide cost data for quotations, and assist customers in developing optimal products.
- Design and prepare product drawings, operations sheets, process instructions, and maintain up‑to‑date revisions.
- Determine manufacturing methodology and rates, material requirements, coordinate processing with secondary operations suppliers, and enter data into the business management system.
- Establish product function and critical characteristics for customers’ applications, working with the quality team to develop control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Design all necessary tooling and fixtures required for product manufacture and revise as needed to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Facilitate collaboration with all plant departments to integrate new products into the manufacturing system and improve existing products by supporting equipment, tooling, processes, tool crib, and tool room functions.
- Evaluate, recommend, justify, and provide technical expertise for new equipment acquisition and drive improvement with robotics, automation, and new technology.
- Identify methods for improving efficiency, reducing waste, reorganizing workflow, establishing product packaging and warehousing methods, and implementing Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, 8 Wastes, etc.).

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of automation equipment troubleshooting and project management preferred (e.g., CNC, PLC, and robotics equipment).
- Travel may be required (estimated 10%+).
- Cold forming heading and threading experience; cold forming of engineered fasteners experience; preference given for cold forming header and threader tool design.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship (H1B, OPT/CPT, TN, etc.).
