Registered Respiratory Therapist - ( 240005IM )
Position Summary
The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.
Essential Functions
- Mechanical ventilation
- Airway clearance therapy
- Oxygen and humidity therapy

- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications:
Education
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory required
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with license to practice in Ohio required
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of recent experience is preferred. Previous work in a hospital is also preferred. Being a member of the AARC is strongly recommended.
The schedule is (2) 12 hour night shifts, Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.
Employees who are hired to work 16-34 hours per week will be awarded a $5,000 sign on bonus: $1,500 to be paid out the next applicable pay period after 90 days of employment, $3,500 to be paid out following the 1 year mark, based on performance.
