Part Time Academic Technology Associate
Lorain County Community College is seeking a Part Time Academic Technology Associate to provide technical support and customer service to students and faculty in a variety of digital learning environments.
Job DescriptionThe Academic Technology Associate will serve as the first point of contact for students and faculty seeking assistance with campus technology systems, including Canvas, Web Ex, Zoom, MyCampus, and office applications. Typical activities include:
- Provide responsive customer service and troubleshooting support to students and faculty.
- Assist with issues related to office software, Canvas access, printing, wireless logins, and other technical challenges.
- Collaborate closely with instructors and staff to resolve technical difficulties within Canvas, Webex, and Zoom.
- Support accessibility remediation of online course materials and test technology using assistive tools.
- Maintain a clean, quiet work area and be visible and available for on‑campus assistance.
- Research solutions for unfamiliar problems, interpret help resources, and stay current with campus technology changes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher (technical support experience may substitute).
- Knowledge of Canvas, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and basic customer service experience.
- Proficient in basic computer troubleshooting, including course‑specific software and printer maintenance.
- Ability to maintain a clean, quiet work area and be available to students, faculty, and staff.
- Research and interpret help resources to solve problems when unfamiliar with issues; stay up‑to‑date with campus technology changes.
- Experience with Canvas LMS.
- Experience with accessibility standards.
- Experience providing chat for technical support and virtual meeting experience (Webex or Zoom) and using Microsoft Teams.
