Job Overview
Entry‑level positions supporting the DIY business and commercial parts delivery at Advance Auto Parts. Roles can be part‑time or full‑time and require fleet safety certification.
Primary Responsibilities – Salesperson- Deliver an excellent selling experience for DIY customers via in‑store visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and support store sales objectives.
- Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installs.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
- General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficient with delivery board system.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operate inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operate POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills – Salesperson
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately in all units of measure.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
- Daily collection of credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
- General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficient with delivery board system.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operate inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment.

The employee must be able to walk or stand, handle or feel with hands and fingers, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May lift and move up to 50 lb routinely and up to 100 lb occasionally. Must have good vision and hearing. Work is usually indoors with occasional exposure to weather, moving mechanical parts, and potential hazards.
Compensation Range$13.15 USD per hour – $13.98 USD per hour.
