Shipping Clerk​/Material Handler 1st shift

Hourly, The Shipping Clerk/Material Handler is responsible for pulling large warehouse items per customer orders, preparing items for shipment, and routing large and LTL shipments.

• Pulland transacts items correctly from warehouse using RF Scanners and ERP system.
• Assist in receiving and locating incoming items
• Route/process all small parcel and freight for location
• Create BOL’s (bills of lading) for shipments
• Process labels/shipments for Fed Ex Ship Manager and UPS World Ship
• Prepare and print packing slips for shipments
• Make sure all orders are ready for invoicing by the time you leave each day
• Maintain a current knowledge of LTL company and customer routing
• Load/unload freight into semi-trucks daily
• Make sure all trucks that did not show up are called in for the next-day pickup
• Work with other departments to consolidate orders when needed
• Correct all mistakes that occur with shipments
• Supply all custom paperwork with all international shipments
• Keep Customer Service Reps (CSRs) up to date on shipments that were missed, held back, or otherwise encountered issues
• All other duties as assigned by management

• HS Diploma or GED may be required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous shipping and/or warehouse experience required
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel). Excel is used daily and will be required to perform this position.
• Must have knowledge of UPS World Ship and Fed Ex Ship Manager
• Must know how to route LTL and Truckload
• Knowledge of international shipments and processes/paperwork
• Experience operating powered equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Ability to use pallet wrapper, weigh, and measure pallets
• 3PL experience preferred, but not required

• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
• Must be able to drive a forklift and load trucks
• Strong attention to detail, ability to distinguish numbers, letters and color differences

• Working in an office
• Working on a shipping dock
• Ability to work in a 55 – 85-degree Fahrenheit work environment.

Payrate: $18.00 to $20.00 + Benefits
