Behaviour Mentor

Location: Mangotsfield

Teacher Active is currently recruiting an experienced and passionate Behaviour Mentor to work within an inner-city school in North Bristol / South Gloucestershire. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role supporting pupils who require behavioural, pastoral, and emotional support, with a strong focus on SEMH needs.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident, resilient, and genuinely committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group behavioural support
Support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and behaviour
Implement behaviour strategies and intervention plans
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Support pupils in and out of the classroom where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working as a Behaviour Mentor in a school or primary school setting
OR
Experience working in a secondary school with pastoral responsibilities
Proven experience supporting children with SEMH
A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning
OR
A HLTA qualification
Availability to work full-time (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm)
A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new DBS
Be able to Drive and have access to your own transport due to the location of the school
