The Sr. Strategy Analyst has the opportunity to make a significant impact through strategic and analytical insights on a well-established but fast‑growing retailer. This person will be a critical partner to key teams throughout Grocery Outlet’s organization and will be responsible for driving analytical insights and supporting projects that will improve operational execution, drive growth, and benefit our independent operators. This person will be involved in both regular reporting and analytics as well as a range of strategic projects and will engage regularly with individuals and functions across the organization.

We are looking for someone who can execute on identified priorities while asking the right questions and translating opportunities into actionable analysis.

This role reports to the Sr. Director – Strategy.

• Support long‑term strategic growth initiatives, planning, and general business analysis both independently, within the strategy team, and with other departments.
• Perform general analysis and synthesis of information to support board and executive team meetings.
• Own analysis, implementation, and next steps for topics including pricing, operational performance, marketing effectiveness, and other initiatives that drive gross profit.
• Perform market basket analysis to recommend changes in merchandising or pricing.
• Conduct ad‑hoc Grocery Outlet performance, financial, and market analyses to inform strategic decision‑making.
• Identify and pursue additional product‑driven analysis and initiatives to drive growth.
• Support long‑term strategic growth/improvement initiatives, planning, execution, and reporting.

• Base Salary Range: $105,000 – $125,000 Annually

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1‑3 years relevant work experience (Consulting/Banking, Operations, Business Strategy, FP&A, or Retail Analyst)
• Strong analytical and statistical skills
• Excellent at structuring analysis and identifying key metrics to get to an “answer”
• Creative and innovative thinker
• Inquisitive nature
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across all departments and up and down all levels
• Self‑starter who can manage own work
• Strong interest in retail
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
