Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA)/Ward Clerk
Supervisor’s

Nursing Manager/Chief Nursing Officer
- Assist patients with daily activities such as dressing, feeding, personal hygiene, transferring to and from bed or wheelchairs, and rehabilitative exercises. Must have graduated from a nursing assistant training program. Certified Nurse Aid (CRN) certificate required.
- Provide basic nursing care under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse or registered nurse (RN).
- Obtain and document patient vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, respiration, and pulse.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, simple dressing application, perennial care, and urine tests.
- Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, bed pans, transportation, and meal assistance.
- Record intake and output of fluids for all patients designated for such observation.
- Answer patient call lights and print telemetry strips every four hours for RN review.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
- Assist with audits and prepare new admit packets.
- Maintain a clean nurse’s station and ensure continuity of care by attending shift huddle and communicating with RN regarding changes in patient condition.
- Minimum education:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Preferred experience:
Two years as a Nurse’s Assistant/Aide or Nurse Technician in an acute care hospital. - Certification:
Current CNA license in the State of Idaho or compact state and CPR certification. - Physical requirement:
Ability to walk, lift, position, push, and transfer patients; includes stooping, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and speaking. - Working conditions:
Exposure to blood-borne pathogens, patient elements, and potential contact with patients and families under sometimes stressful, difficult, and unpredictable circumstances.
