The Student Pastor at TABC reports to the Associate Administrative Pastor with guidance from the Lead Pastor. He is responsible for directly ministering to the youth group (students in grades 7-12). The group is composed of approximately 75 young people, with eight volunteer staff to assist. Wednesday nights involve a large group meeting that includes a time of fun and a time of teaching from the Student Pastor.
Sunday nights are devoted to small groups, broken out by grade level, guided by the volunteers and the Student Pastor. There are also one-off events that take place on different nights of the week.
The mission of this ministry is to ensure that students in our group are known and accepted, taught the truth about Jesus, and challenged to take their next step in faith. We seek to accomplish this by including the Disciple’s Rhythm in everything we do (Up, In, Out).
Discipleship is the end goal of our efforts with students. The pastor should not only be actively pouring into their volunteer team but equipping them to disciple students and checking in on them often regarding their discipleship appointments with students.
Everything that the Student Pastor does should serve these purposes.
