Job Overview
As a part of the Production Team, you are responsible for various bakery manufacturing activities. As a utility 1 worker you must work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, communicate effectively in a team structure, and be flexible with work assignments within the utility category. Assignments include:
- Pan Setter
- Feeder
- Packer/Carton
- Packer/Cases
- Shipping Stacker
- Handler
- Sanitor
- Receiver
- Palletizer
You must follow written and verbal instructions, complete duties safely and accurately, and maintain GMP standards. You will also be a part of the Food Defense Team.
Essential Functions- Work as a helper on one (1) production line in various roles—Helper, Indexer, Feeder, Packer, Catcher, etc.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as grasping, lifting, moving, placing, and stacking items related to the production processes.
- Feed, catch, and monitor a continuous production line.
- Visually inspect product for quality and quantity.
- Support quality‑control programs to ensure procedures follow food‑safety and quality standards.
- Report equipment issues to the supervisor or manager promptly.
- Understand and comply with all safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out when applicable.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment by adhering to safety policies and GMP procedures.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitation of equipment and the environment pre‑ and post‑production.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
- Perform other duties not listed as required.
All tools and equipment required by the employer are supplied and maintained at no cost to the employee. Employees are expected to keep these items on the premises.
Minimum RequirementsNA
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Previous safety training preferred.
- Prior food‑industry experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
This job operates in a manufacturing environment with a potentially loud noise level.
Physical DemandsRequires frequent standing, walking, handling, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may push/pull carts weighing up to 800 pounds. Requires fine vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
