About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Surveyor to support the delivery of key specialist projects. You will work closely with experienced Surveyors, gaining hands‑on exposure to commercial management, cost control and contract administration – a great opportunity to grow your career in construction.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with tenders, budgets, cost plans and cashflow forecasting.
- Attend site visits and meetings, maintaining accurate records.
- Support contract administration, including variations, valuations and final accounts.
- Contribute to cost management and monthly CVR reporting.
- Assist with procurement and subcontractor engagement.
- Ensure compliance with building safety, CDM, and police‑specific regulations.
- Help track materials, changes and commercial performance.
- Build relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
- Some experience in a construction or commercial environment (preferred).
- Basic understanding of JCT or NEC contracts.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Personable, adaptable and eager to learn.
- Work on projects up to £8m in value.
- Reporting to Project Surveyor and Contracts Manager.
- Driving licence (beneficial for London site visits).
- Must be able to obtain NPPV security clearance.
- Strong focus on safety, compliance and quality (SHEQ).
- Gain hands‑on experience on meaningful public‑sector projects.
