Freelance MEP Quantity Surveyor (Project Level)

We are seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to support a portfolio of major projects across Enfield, Milton Keynes and Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute, project-level MEP QS to join a busy project team on a freelance basis, working across three substantial projects. The role offers a lengthy project pipeline and the opportunity to play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of the M&E packages.

Working closely with the project and commercial teams, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of M&E packages across the projects, ensuring costs, variations and contractual obligations are effectively managed.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of M&E packages at project level.
• Subcontractor procurement, package negotiation and appointment.
• Reviewing and assessing subcontractor applications for payment.
• Managing variations, change control and valuations.
• Cost reporting, forecasting and commercial risk management.
• Reviewing subcontractor accounts and managing final accounts.
• Working closely with project managers, site teams and the wider commercial function.
• Ensuring contractual and commercial processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

• Proven experience as an MEP / M&E Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong commercial experience within the building services sector.
• Experience managing M&E packages on live construction projects.
• Good understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage commercial responsibilities at project level.
• Life sciences experience would be highly desirable
  , although not essential.

• Freelance contract.
• Working across three projects in Enfield, Milton Keynes and Essex.
• Project-level responsibility with an established delivery team.
