Pastoral Assistant - Enfield

Milk Education are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Enfield to recruit a dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join their pastoral team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with their wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development.

The successful Pastoral Assistant will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, improve engagement and develop the confidence needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. The school is committed to creating a positive and nurturing environment where every student feels safe, supported and able to achieve their potential.

The Role:
  • Working as a Pastoral Assistant to support students with attendance, behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Building positive relationships with pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group pastoral interventions
  • Supporting students who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges
  • Monitoring attendance, punctuality and student welfare
  • Liaising with teachers, families, safeguarding leads and external agencies where appropriate
  • Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive conduct throughout the school
  • Supporting safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives across the school community
The Ideal Candidate :
  • Previous experience as a Pastoral Assistant
    , Behaviour Mentor, Learning Mentor, Youth Worker or Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Patient, resilient and empathetic approach
  • Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
