Position: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term temporary

Location: Enfield, London, UK
Pay is dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. Higher rates may apply to candidates with substantial ADHD, behaviour-support, SEMH or secondary-school experience.
A supportive Enfield secondary school is seeking an energetic and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD) to join its inclusion team from September.
The appointed SEN Teaching Assistant will support students who experience difficulties with attention, organisation, impulsivity and emotional regulation. You will help students remain engaged in learning, break tasks into manageable steps and develop strategies that support greater independence.
This opportunity would suit someone who can remain calm under pressure, set clear boundaries and recognise the strengths and potential of every student.
Main Duties- Supporting students with ADHD during lessons
- Helping students organise equipment, homework and deadlines
- Breaking learning into clear, achievable stages
- Reinforcing positive behaviour and classroom expectations
- Supporting emotional regulation and restorative conversations
- Delivering targeted one-to-one or small-group interventions
- Monitoring engagement and recording progress
- Liaising with teachers, pastoral leaders and the SENCO
- Experience supporting young people in education, youth work or care
- An understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning
- Patience, resilience and a positive communication style
- The ability to follow individual education and behaviour plans
- A strong commitment to safeguarding
- Right to work in the UK
Experience supporting students with SEMH, challenging behaviour or executive-function difficulties would be beneficial.
