Learning Support Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School

North London | Full-Time | September Start

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in North London is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, providing targeted support to students with a range of additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEND department to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
• Support students during lessons to ensure they remain engaged and make progress.
• Adapt learning resources and teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of teaching staff and the SEND department.
• Encourage independence, resilience and positive participation within the classroom.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate.
• Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEND team.
• Support students during break times, educational visits and other school activities where required.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
• A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their full potential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable with a positive attitude.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team while using initiative when required.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
