** The role**:

As a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, you will help drive our goals by:
* Supporting the mechanical maintenance team with planned and reactive maintenance activities across site
* Learning to maintain and repair mechanical plant equipment including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, valves and pipework
* Assisting with fault finding, inspections and basic mechanical fitting under supervision
* Following safe systems of work and site safety procedures, taking responsibility for personal safety and correct use of PPE
* Completing apprenticeship coursework and maintaining a training and development portfolio
** Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
*** A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A –C including English, Maths and Science
* An interest in engineering, mechanics or practical subjects
* A strong awareness of safety and willingness to follow procedures
* Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* The ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with others
