An established precision engineering and manufacturing company is looking for an experienced hyperMILL CNC Programmer / CAD CAM Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Programmer with strong CAD/CAM experience who enjoys getting involved in the wider engineering and manufacturing process.

The role will primarily focus on offline CNC programming using hyperMILL
, alongside mechanical design, component development and technical engineering support.

We are looking for a good all-round engineer who understands not just how to program a component, but how it is designed, machined and manufactured efficiently.

• Produce and develop CNC milling programs using hyperMILL CAD/CAM software
  .

• Create and optimise machining strategies for precision-engineered components.

• Develop CNC programs for 3-axis and multi-axis milling applications, where required.

• Review engineering drawings, CAD models and customer specifications to establish manufacturing requirements.

• Undertake mechanical design and CAD modelling work as required.

• Review component designs and provide technical input on manufacturability.

• Support engineering reviews of machined components and sheet metal assemblies.

• Work closely with CNC machinists, production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

• Improve machining methods, tooling strategies, cycle times and manufacturing efficiency.

• Contribute to design for manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement activities.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in CNC milling, offline programming and precision engineering
.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven experience in CNC programming using hyperMILL
  .

• Strong CAD/CAM programming skills within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

• A good understanding of CNC milling processes, cutting tools and machining strategies.

• Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.

• Knowledge of machining tolerances, materials and manufacturing processes.

• The ability to review designs and identify practical manufacturing solutions.

• Some mechanical design or CAD modelling experience.

• A hands-on engineering approach with the ability to work across programming, design and production.

Experience with in aerospace, defence, automotive or other high-precision manufacturing environments would be particularly relevant.

This is not simply a CNC programming position. The company is looking for someone who can take responsibility for programming while also contributing to wider engineering activities.
