Senior Registered Children's Nurse
Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals

Salary:
Up to £51,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)
We have an opportunity for a Senior Registered Children's Nurse to join their team of staff in the Paediatric department.
This is a part‑time role for 20 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:- Deliver safe, evidence‑based care to children and young people with a wide range of acute and long‑term health needs.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments, implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes in collaboration with the wider team.
- Respond effectively to changes in clinical condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation.
- Work in partnership with families and carers to ensure care is responsive, inclusive, and emotionally supportive.
- Provide clear, age‑appropriate information to children and families regarding treatment, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Act as an advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard in the care process.
- Registered Children’s Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Substantial post‑registration experience in paediatric nursing.
- Proven ability to coordinate care and support junior staff.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and family‑centred care principles.
- Experience in a senior or team leader role.
- PILS/APLS certification.
- Experience in a paediatric specialty (e.g. surgery, oncology, critical care, ambulatory care).
- Familiarity with private healthcare pathways or elective paediatric services.
