Registered Mental Health Nurse

Priory Hospital North London has a vacancy for a Registered Mental Health Nurse within its mental health service. The nurse acts as a named nurse, assessing and planning care with patients and their families, observing patients to judge progress, and keeping care plans under review. The service treats addictions, depression, anxiety, stress and OCD, and offers private autism assessments for adults, on a full-time, site-based pattern of 37.5 hours.

Applicants need active NMC registration and two years' post-registration hospital experience, with the preceptorship completed.

• Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework
• Assess, plan and deliver nursing care with the patient and their carer or family, respecting patient choice and wishes
• Act as the named nurse for assigned patients
• Observe and engage with patients to assess need and evaluate progress
• Monitor and review nursing care plans
• Work as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team
• Promote the best interests of clients and carers and ensure prescribed nursing care is implemented effectively

• Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

• Active NMC registration

• Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in a hospital setting
• Completed preceptorship programme

• Strong understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements and professional standards
• Ability to adopt flexible and innovative approaches to practice
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ongoing post-registration continuing professional development
• Positive attitude and commitment to change, service improvement and high-quality care
