Role PurposeTo work as part of the Academy Transport Team to provide safe and efficient transportation of passengers as assigned by the Lead Transport Coordinator. To drive the minibus and club vehicles to transport THFC Academy Players in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Highway Code. To maintain passenger, staff and public safety whilst on the highway.
To provide basic maintenance and checks of the fleet e.g. oil levels, cleaning of vehicle to maintain basic working order and prevent unnecessary deterioration of the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out basic maintenance checks on vehicles and keep daily mileage logs
- Record maintenance checks, accident reports on appropriate software as directed
- Maintain vehicle hygiene
- Operate company vehicles safely in accordance with company policies and traffic laws (abiding by Rules and Regulations of the Highway Code (i.e. adhering to road signals, respecting other drivers, etc.)
- Transport academy players to and from their residence to training grounds and football matches
- Follow assigned routes and schedules
- Have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Act in accordance with the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Be alert to signs of abuse, neglect, or safeguarding concerns and report these appropriately
- Maintain professional boundaries and act as a positive role model when working with or around children
- Attend safeguarding training as required and keep knowledge up to date
- Have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Act in accordance with the organisation’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Be alert to signs of abuse, neglect, or safeguarding concerns and report these appropriately

- Minimum Grade 7 GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Understanding of road traffic rules and regulations
- Awareness and understanding of basic safety and security measures
- Understanding of Health and Safety issues and good practice
- Category D1, MiDAS, ISBA Minibus Compliance Course or RoSPA training (or willingness to undertake)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Good organisational and personal management skills
- Have experience driving a people carrier (9-seater)
- Experience in an elite sporting or Academy environment
- Have experience driving a minibus
- Have experience of working with young people
- Experience of working in the community transport industry
- Have experience driving a minibus (17-seater)
- The post holder will be required to complete a Practical Driver Assessment
- Flexible and proactive
