Teach Now are looking for an interventions teacher to join one of their primary schools in Waltham Forest after Easter for a maternity leave cover. The school, a 2-form entry primary school that is located in a beautiful residential area, and it is accessible by both public transport and car.
The role is on a full-time basis, and it is from April until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be covering this maternity leave role until at least July, and they will have the opportunity to take on a similar or different role in the new academic year. They will be covering across KS1 and KS2 and they will have the chance to meet the children and class teachers before they start their role officially.
Specifically, you will be carrying on interventions across KS1 in the morning and KS2 in the afternoon and you will be working with both individual children and groups of children who require additional support with accessing the curriculum.
The school are looking for individuals who have:
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Ability to assist and assess effectively SEN pupils
- Good behavioral management strategies
- Ability to be creative and manage, motivate and inspire children
- Ability to liaise with multi-professionals
- Able to commit for the duration of the placement
- Creative and dynamic in their approach to teaching and learning
- Honest and compassionate
- Happy to complete training to further develop their knowledge and understanding in education.
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willing to complete one
- Ability to be flexible and patient
