Job Description
Shift Manager at Quality Fresca LLC (Moe’s Southwest Grill) – Enfield, CT
Purpose:
Assist General Manager and Assistant Manager in overseeing operations by working with Shift Managers and all team members to ensure outstanding customer service, maximize sales, and control food, labor, and other operating costs to maximize profitability.
- Ensure all guests receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, acknowledging every guest with the Moe’s welcome and engaging with guests to understand their visit.
- Maintain cleanliness and attractiveness of the facility to exceed guest expectations, health department standards, Moe’s corporate standards, and brand guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following sanitation standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
- Manage restaurant ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, monitors, and front-of-house temperature.
- Utilize and ensure the use of all business tools and equipment, including food prep, technology, and audio/video equipment.
- Follow established policies and SOPs; implement production, productivity, and quality standards.
- Place food orders based on pars and conduct accurate daily and weekly inventory of food and dry goods.
- Continuously improve knowledge through manager meetings, educational opportunities, reading, and professional development.
- Control food costs through proper portioning, waste reduction, accurate purchase transactions, and budgeting of food orders.
- Assist GM and AM in attracting patrons through marketing programs and catering opportunities; execute local advertising and community initiatives.
- Support the GM and AM in achieving company goals by taking ownership of new requests and identifying value-add opportunities.
- Assist in meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Assist in human resources objectives by recruiting, training, coaching, scheduling, and administering performance management; communicate expectations and enforce policies and procedures.
- Promote and embody the Savin Brands and Moe’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Business Drivers with pride and integrity.
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong customer focus to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Ability to learn or manage cost controls for food, labor, and other operating costs.
- People management skills: train, coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable.
- Experience creating and adjusting team member schedules based on sales and volume.
- Conflict resolution with customers and team members.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound decision making and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer skills (internet, email, Word, Excel).
- High initiative, self-motivation, time management, and the ability to multitask.
- Possess or obtain Food Safety Manager Certification within 3 months of employment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and able to complete Form I-9 within 3 days of first day of employment.
- Must be 18 years of age and pass acceptable criminal and background checks.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), provide proof of insurance, and have a satisfactory vehicle for catering deliveries (required).
- Ability to communicate with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to perform basic math, handle cash, and process POS transactions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warm environment (grills, fryer).
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, and clean equipment; stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours) and work around cleaning agents.
- Ability to use hands and arms to prepare menu items and operate equipment.
