You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs.

This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via the myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule.

When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. You should actively engage by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts  you do not respond, employment may be terminated.

If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated. Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it are critical to your success in this role.

Should you be offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime mobile scheduling app is where you can pick up the shifts you desire to work.

• Effective communication and attentiveness to guests’ needs
• Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
• A welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
• Attention to detail while multi-tasking
• Willingness to educate guests about products and services
• Ability to use multiple devices and handheld scanners and other technology as directed
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

As a Guest Advocate, a typical day will include:

• Delivering a service standard to create a welcoming guest experience
• Greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
• Assisting guests with their needs in a welcoming manner
• Being knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience
• Thanking guests for shopping with Target
• Scanning and bagging items efficiently and, when applicable, in compliance with food safety standards
• Minimizing guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
• Informing guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
• Promoting Target Loyalty programs and assisting with enrollment; directing to enrollment for fulfillment services
• Educating guests on Wallet and Target App features
• Handling returns per policy, escalating to leadership as needed
• De-escalating situations and recovering the guest shopping experience following Target policies
• Providing easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
• Maintaining a clean, organized work area
• Stocking supplies during store hours and being available for guests
• Demonstrating ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
• Working safely and reporting hazards
• Supporting guest services such as order pick up, Drive-Up orders and returns, while ensuring compliance with laws
• Supporting Cash Office processes as needed
• All other duties based on business needs
