Part Time Collections Specialist

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part Time Collections Specialist to join our team in Greenwood Village, Colorado on a Contract basis. This role focuses on managing receivables, communicating with customers about outstanding balances, and supporting timely payment resolution across commercial and consumer accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong follow-up skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle collection activities professionally while maintaining positive customer relationships.

This role is fully remote but you MUST be local to Colorado.

Responsibilities:

- Contact customers regarding overdue balances and guide them through payment resolution for both commercial and consumer accounts.

- Review aging reports and account activity to prioritize collection efforts and reduce outstanding receivables.

- Investigate billing concerns, reconcile discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams to support accurate account balances.

- Document collection interactions, payment commitments, and account updates in the appropriate systems.

- Monitor adherence to established collection procedures and escalate accounts when additional action is required.

- Work closely with credit and billing teams to support account review, dispute resolution, and risk assessment.

- Track payment trends and provide updates on collection status, unresolved issues, and recovery progress.

Requirements - Experience handling collections for commercial, consumer, or mixed account portfolios.

- Working knowledge of credit and collections practices, including account follow-up and delinquency management.

- Familiarity with billing collection processes and account reconciliation activities.

- Ability to communicate professionally with customers while managing sensitive payment discussions.

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.

- Proficiency in reviewing account information and prioritizing collection activities effectively.
