Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview

Heavy Equipment Operator role at JARCCO Construction.

• Operates construction, excavation, and demolition equipment including excavators, front-end loaders, and skid steers.
• Loads dump trucks with broken concrete using an excavator or front-end loader.
• Breaks concrete with an excavator using a hydraulic breaker.
• Operates machinery used to build and/or demolish bridges, buildings, and highways.
• Inspects and fuels equipment before beginning shift.
• Communicates clearly with dispatch and supervisors.
• Performs routine maintenance checks and reports needed repairs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Heavy equipment required to operate on-site: motor graders, bulldozers, excavators, asphalt pavers, road rollers, skid steer, front-end loader.

• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Proficient in English.
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment and safety standards.

• Experience:
• Construction: 4+ years (Preferred Equipment Operator)
• General roadway, highway, or heavy civil for 2+ years as Heavy Equipment Operator

• Education:
• High school Diploma or GED
• Equivalent work experience will be considered.

• Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
• Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Ability to analyze problems and create solutions that add value to the client and the company.

• Pay: $28 – $35 per hour
