Substitute Teacher - BRAVE Academy - Englewood

Summary of the position

Substitute Teachers will partner with classroom teachers and Head of School or School Principal to support learning in the classroom while a teacher is away temporarily.

This position pays $150.00 per day.

• Experience working with children and/or students, preferably in a learning environment, prior teaching experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrates a thorough grasp and commitment to BRAVE Academy mission and vision.
• Understands and follows all school policies.
• Enjoys teaching subject matter and working with students.
• Cooperative team player.
• May be required to lift up to 15 lbs. on occasion.

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in meal areas.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the outline of the lesson plan and instructions from the regular Teacher.
• For long‑term Substitutes:
  Develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans in coordination with school leadership.
