Electrical Engineer 1 – Oil & Gas at Sargent & Lundy.
We are looking for an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join the team in May 2026.
Location:
Denver, CO.
Compensation Range: $60,660.00 – $87,090.00.
Responsibilities- Work in a project team environment with engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems.
- Support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
- Assist the project lead in ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
- Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three‑phase power transient studies, voltage drop, and protective relay settings.
- Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production.
- Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations.
- Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly and concisely and meet client requirements and S&L formats.
- Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule requiring in‑office work three days per week.
Qualifications- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, graduating Spring 2026 or earlier.
- Experience in selecting equipment, materials, control philosophy, and preparing as well as assembling calculations and specifications.
- Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
- Technical knowledge of available equipment and proven pre‑engineered systems to execute system design.
- Experience reviewing and preparing engineers’ design calculations and drawings.
- Construction and start‑up experience is a plus.
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- EIT certification.
