This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63‑year‑old program with a long‑standing history of mission success and a strong partnership with our Navy customer. The role requires a strong planning background and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Location: The position does not support teleworking; candidates will be located near the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Englewood or Littleton, CO and will be expected to work a flexible 9×80 schedule in the office full time.
What does this role look like?The new Hardware Engineer will support the LE2 program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM.
Key Activities You Will Accomplish In This Role- Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test, and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.
- Mentor junior engineers and interface extensively with customers and senior leadership.
- Create/update project/process documentation that aligns with project requirements.
- Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test, and verification of automated test systems, including data review and trending.
- Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.
- Interface with suppliers, customers, and internal design teams to provide cost‑effective and low‑risk solutions.
- Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors, and customers.
- Support, as required, Failure Review Board activities through closure.
- Ability to travel and work at alternate work sites as required, less than 25%.
- Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware.
- 3+ years of professional experience for this role.
- US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Skills:
- Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrated test systems, and experience as a subject‑matter engineer or equivalent.
- Experience with Telemetry Data Processing (TDP).
- Experience working with RF.
- Demonstrated ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products.
- Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting system‑level issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
