Project Manager - Vertical Transportation Special Projects
Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr – $75,000.00/yr
Job SummaryLerch Bates is seeking a Project Manager to develop program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. The role provides technical information, requirements, and project cost estimates for proposals, quotes and statements of work, creates and maintains documentation, and supervises the technical support team.
What You’ll Do- Facilitate and attend client meetings with architects.
- Participate in all aspects of project development: bid and contract development, conceptual planning, design, construction administration, maintenance audits, site safety and equipment inspections, and modernization projects for vertical transportation systems.
- Manage assigned active projects to ensure client satisfaction, quality, timeliness of delivery and billing.
- Assist with planning, coordination, billing, delivery and other activities in the service area as requested.
- Provide scheduled and requested reports (equipment/systems status, work progress, billing, change orders, deficiencies).
- Oversee allocation of projects and tasks, directing workflows for efficient execution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Engineering, Construction, or the Elevator industry.
- Strong AutoCAD, Revit, math, geometry and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to calculate mechanical, electrical and structural loads manually.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of elevators, escalators, moving walkways, or other vertical transportation equipment and applicable ASME codes.
- Project management skills: coordination with architects, owners, contractors, municipalities.
- Highly organized, adaptable to changing priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, negotiation and communication skills.
- Deductive reasoning and critical thinking.
- Current knowledge of industry operational and equipment trends.
- Ability to execute tasks accurately and manage multiple projects.
- Professional presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Travel regionally as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD deliverables and project time recording systems.
- $60k–$75k/year base salary.
