This is an opportunity to support a variety of interesting and complex stormwater quality, drainage design, and modeling projects for our growing list of municipal and transportation clients throughout the Denver metro and beyond. We are looking to add a Project Engineer who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities!
As a Project Engineer with Bolton & Menk, you will be supporting a team of engineers providing technical analysis, drainage design, plan development, and modeling to take your projects from preliminary design through construction.
What You Will Be Doing- Lead design and construction of transportation-related water resources projects, including highway drainage systems, culverts, and erosion control
- Prepare CDOT-compliant drainage reports, SWMPs (Stormwater Management Plans), and erosion control plans for transportation corridors
- Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for storm drain systems, detention basins, and water quality features using tools like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and XPSWMM
- Manage CAD production for transportation drainage improvements, SWMPs / SWPPPs, and erosion control features using AutoCAD Civil3D or Micro Station
- Coordinate permitting and compliance with Colorado-specific regulations, including CDPHE, MS4, and CDOT drainage criteria
- Develop cost estimates, specifications, and bid documents for water resources components of transportation projects
- Support floodplain analysis, stream restoration, and wetland mitigation adjacent to transportation infrastructure
- Conduct field inspections, SWMP / SWPPP compliance reviews, and construction observation, collaborating with CDOT, municipal staff, and contractors
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent program from an accredited college
- 6+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including transportation and water resources
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Experience with CDOT standards and procedures, including the Transportation Engineering Training Program (TETP)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Micro Station, and drainage modeling software (XPSWMM, Auto Desk Storm & Sanitary, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
- Possess a valid driver’s license
$70,000 - $120,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
