This role supports excise tax compliance and advisory projects for clients in industries including Oil & Gas, Transportation, Manufacturing and Retail. The team provides US Federal and State excise tax filings and related advisory services, such as due diligence, licensing research, controversy support, and interpretation of new legislation.
Responsibilities- You’re likely to work on a diverse array of projects, supporting engagements by collaborating with team members, delivering quality work and meeting deadlines.
- Provide lead compliance support to the engagement team, supervise and evaluate assigned seniors & analysts, communicate with clients, provide tax technical recommendations and resolve engagement issues.
- Participate in a highly collaborative culture and share information with colleagues as an essential part of the role.
- Demonstrate an effective understanding of excise tax concepts and apply tax knowledge to client situations
- Support the team in developing and delivering quality tax planning approaches with timely services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations
- Assist in identifying and engaging clients in opportunities for excise tax compliance, planning and other services
- Prepare practical approaches to client tax situations and arrive at appropriate conclusions
- Develop recommendations and implementation plans in complex areas
- Stay current on trends, developments and legislation affecting clients
- Research advanced tax issues and develop practical solutions
- Lead and coach team members in managing engagement lifecycle and engagement economics
- Responsible for financial and economic health of managed engagement
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum of 5+ years in a professional services or tax services organization
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Effective time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong research skills with experience navigating resources (e.g., Westlaw, CCH, RIA)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; solid knowledge of excise tax concepts
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point
- Willingness to travel as needed; ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment
- CPA, EA, or JD/LLM (not required)

What We Offer You- Comprehensive compensation and benefits; the base salary range is $90,800 to $166,400. Regional adjustments may apply.
